The Connoisseur Concerto

I know many foodies would avoid chain cafes such as The Connoisseur Concerto as they seem to lack "uniqueness". Rest assured, The Connoisseur Concerto has an extensive menu that would satisfy your taste buds. I would strongly recommend the Seafood Aglio Olio.

Aglio Olio ("spaghetti with garlic and oil" in Italian) is a traditional Italian pasta dish, said to originate traditionally from the region of Abruzzo, although it is popular across the country.   The dish is made by lightly sauteeing minced or pressed garlic in olive oil. Curious to know more? More interesting facts given at the end of the post!

Service:
A major plus point is that you will be seated by the staff. Important when you are having a large group looking for a place to have tea! However, service may be slow.

Recommended:
- Baby Crayfish Spaghetti
- Baked Chicken Thigh with Wholegrain Mustard Sauce
- Beef Brisket Baked Rice
- Seafood Aglio Olio

I have visited various TCC boutiques. Photos of my visits are compiled and are shown below.

Seafood Aglio Olio ($20.50++) The spaghetti is mild tasting but the scallops and prawns are cooked to perfection! Great for those seafood lovers!
Pan-Fried Salmon with Citrus White Wine Sauce ($24.80++) You will be asked for the doneness of the salmon. Fragrant white wine sauce complement the vegetables, such as the asparagus and new potatoes.
Deluxe Snack Platter ($16.80++). The mozza sticks will leave you craving for MORE! The onion rings and calamari worked well with the tomato puree and tangy citrus sauce.
Baby Crayfish Spaghetti ($20++) The amount of crayfish that comes with the meal is CRAZY! The wasabi egg roe lightens the thick tomato cream sauce! Great combination.
Pan-seared Fish with Lemongrass Scented Sauce ($23.50++). The fish was fresh and well grilled. However, the sauce was ordinary while the portion is petite.
Ribeye Steak served with espresso barbecue sauce($32.00++). Other than the presentation and the sides which were nice. The espresso barbecue sauce was overwhelming, masking the beef flavour.
Spaghetti Bolognese. ($20.00++) The spaghetti was al dente but was lacking of the x-factor.
Baked Chicken Thigh with Wholegrain Mustard Sauce ($21.00++). The chicken thigh was tender and moist. The whole grain mustard sauce was savoury, with bits of pepper spices floating in the sauce. Unfortunately, it was not spicy.
Puffy Triplets ($12.50+). Profiteroles filled with chocolate ice-cream stacked on a brownie base. Petite size but great for sharing when you are full!

Science of Garlic:
Allicin gives garlic its aroma and flavour. Surprisingly, it is not found in garlic!   Fresh garlic contains an enzyme called “allinase” and “alliin”, which are contained in different parts of the garlic plants. When the garlic is bruised, the allinase and alliin can mix to form allicin! This functions as a defense mechanism against fungi or other soil pathogens
