My family and I visited London in 2013. The first thing I wanted to do was visit Gordon Ramsey's or the Fat Duck. Unfortunately, they were fully booked and the latter maybe alittle of my budget. Disappointed, I did a little research and realised I overlooked one of the greatest chef of the century.
Joël Robuchon was titled "Chef of the Century" by the guide Gault Milau in 1989. He has accumulated a total of 28 Michelin Guide stars - the most of any chef in the world. At that time of review (2013), the restaurant was awarded 2 Michelin Stars.

So you must be thinking, how much is the meal! I decided to go for the set lunch and below are the prices (excluding 13% service charge. VAT included):
- 2 courses £31 or Sommelier pairing £45 (Monday - Friday only)
- 3 courses £36 or Sommelier pairing £55
- 4 courses £41 or Sommelier pairing £64

I felt that the prices were reasonable for a 2 Michelin Starred restaurant. Read on for the reviews for the meal.
What you need to know:
- They serve bottled water which maybe pricy.
- It is near Leicester square. As a tourist, you can visit TKTS to get your discounted theatre tickets!
- They have reasonably priced Pre & Post theatre menu.
Service:
The staff were professional.
Recommended:
- Maine Lobster with Broad Bean Salad (Sup £7)
- Spit-roast of the day
- Le Chou
Le Homard Du Maine - Maine Lobster with broad bean salad, ginger and shellfish jelly! Loved it!!
La Cerise - Cherry gazpacho, ewe's milk cream and basil oil (tasted pretty bad)
La Saint-Jacque - Pan Fried scallop and shellfish with flat parsley coulis. I have never liked squid, but this is the place to have it.
Some bread while waiting for the food. Excellent French Butter
Amuse-bouche, and the chef decides to wow us by starting off with some Foie gras, topped with a little red wine with Parmesan FoamLe Saint-Pierre - Roasted John Dory with ratatouille and sauce vierge. A little sour because of the lemon, but there's chill sauce!
La Broche Du Jour - Spit roast of the day! And it was Pan seared lamb with the creamiest mash potatoes. The lamb was just too awesome.
Complimentary sides from the chef. Wonder why he didn't consider becoming a Japanese chef because HIS TEMPURA WAS ONE OF THE BEST FRIED FOOD I HAVE EATEN!!!!
Le Dulcey - Chocolate cream with blonde chocolate mousse and white chocolate ice cream.
Le Chou - Chou pastry filled with vanilla mousse, raspberry coulis and sorbet!
To end off the meal, the nice marshmellows with infused cherry flavours and chocolate coated caramel.
